Protecting Your Baby!

I wanted to talk about car protection today.

I know what you're thinking when I said car protection; you're thinking he's going to be talking about waxes, paint sealants, and ceramic coatings.

I'm going to touch on that stuff, but I also wanted to first talk about interior protection.

So when I'm talking about interior protection, I'm not just talking about protecting specific areas of the interior. I'm talking about everything inside your car.

We can do the plastics, vinyl, leather, any fabrics like the seats and carpeting.

All that stuff can be protected to make it easier to clean and make it stain resistant.

Ceramic coatings create a hydrophobic surface. This makes it easier to clean up and resist staining because that liquid can't penetrate the surface.

That liquid can't get into the tiny fibers of your seats or carpeting. That's how a stain becomes a stain. It gets down into those fibers, and it gets trapped in there.

This type of protection is excellent for families with kids getting food and drinks everywhere but in their mouths.

On your exterior, obviously, we got waxes, paint sealants, and ceramic coatings.

On your exterior surface, as you move from waxes to ceramic coatings, you're going to see better resistants to bird droppings and tree sap.

These elements and others can etch into your paint and can damage the finish.

On a side note, any protection, whether wax or coating, is better than no protection, especially with car exteriors.

With any type of protection, you lessen the chance of something etching into that original OEM finish on your car.

The idea with any type of paint protection is to create a sacrificial layer that can easily be replaced.

Whether it's interior or exterior, you're going to get different levels of protection.

What I mean by that is you're going to see a difference in longevity and durability between products. How long will it last, and how much abuse can it take before it starts to deteriorate.

Waxes will only give you a week to one or two months.

Paint sealants will give you anywhere from three to six months.

Ceramic coatings a year to five years. Even going as high as 9 years or a "lifetime."

Interior protection is going to be a wear and tear type product. The more you move against it, the faster it will break down.

Exterior surfaces depend on how you maintain them and the environment they were exposed to.

Most of these types of protection will also give you some added UV protection. Which will obviously help with fading on plastic pieces.

Hope this helps and gives you a good understanding of the protection for your car and how it helps.
