What is a ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating is a product made up of silica dioxide, titanium dioxide, graphene oxide, or any combination of the three. Those main ingredients make up a semi permient layer that bonds to your car's surface.
 
It offers better, longer lasting protection than a wax or paint sealant, lasting years not weeks or a couple months.

How do I care for my ceramic coated car?

Accepted Answer

Hand wash whenever possible. Tunnel or drive-through car washes are not recommended. Touchless washes are ok once in awhile.
 
We do take the time during your follow-up to show you the proper way to wash your car.

Question 3

My car is brand new, does it still need to be polished?"

Accepted Answer

Short answer, yes. Polishing is the foundation of a proper installlation. It's all in the preparation. In my experience, if a coating fails, it was because the surface was not prepped correctly and the coating did not bond to the surface correctly.

Why the difference in price from detailers and dealerships?

Accepted Answer

Experience, skill, and knowledge of the detailer. Professional coatings require hands-on training to be certified to install.
 
The type of coating being applied, all coatings are different
 
The preparation that goes into a coating. Some installers will skip steps to cut costs.
 
The size, condition of the vehicle, and the paint itself. Some paints are more difficult to work with.

Ceramic Coating Myths

Accepted Answer

Coatings are not fireproof. Despite what you might see in those YouTube videos. Extreme heat will damage most ceramic coatings
 
Coatings are not a bulletproof or scratch-proof. They can still be marred by improper washing and dry techniques and drivethrough car washes.
 
You can still get waterspots on your coated car. Any horizontal surface can get waterspots, coated or not. Though they should be easier to remove but may not be covered under any kind of warranty.
