Investing in Education

If you're a bit like me, you've believed investing is something you do for the future, either yours or maybe your children's.

In the last couple of years of running my detailing business, I've met many people. Most of them love to invest.

Whether in stocks, real estate, or metals, they're all investing in something.

I never really knew how or what to invest in until I started my business.

I traded stocks about 20 years ago, but I never got serious about it. I did it primarily for fun and quick buck if I could.

One of my favorite and probably cheapest ways to invest has been in myself.

Nothing has prepared me more for what has come my way than all the books I've read in the last couple of years.

I was your typical guy in school, and I never liked to read anything unless it interested me. So reading in school was always a struggle for me. (I was a slow reader too and hated that)

Once I finished school, I rarely picked up a book. If I have any regrets, this is one of them.

Fast forward about 20 years; that all changed when I started detailing.

We all may know how to do something, but do we know how to as a business?

Books, podcasts, training, even some online webinars have helped me build and grow my business. They've allowed me to develop and deliver better results. And also to understand what needs to happen inside the company to keep it running so I can continue to help people.

All this learning has also helped in my personal life. As our businesses are extensions of ourselves, everything I learn with my business trickles down into my life.

There are two types of people, ones who invest and ones that don't.

I implore you to be someone that does, and picking up a couple of books is, in my opinion, the best way to start.
